Unboxed’s Instagram highlights their approach, describing “a design centered around curvature and flow,” and proudly proclaiming, “We literally ELEVATED the red carpet this year.” Their impressive portfolio includes projects for major premieres such as Hulu’s All’s Fair, The White Lotus, and It: Welcome to Derry, along with a Lady Gaga event for Mayhem.

A History of Red Carpet Innovation

Kyle Absolom, president and creative director of Unboxed, along with his team, have a proven track record of creating unforgettable awards show aesthetics. Notably, they collaborated with Mark’s Garden for a “standout moment” at the 2024 Oscars red carpet, showcasing their expertise in crafting visually spectacular environments. For the Golden Globes, Unboxed partnered with the events and spatial design firm Nouvant, with vital support from Dick Clark Productions’ creative director Andrew Hammer, VP of events and production design Jitter Garcia, and VP of production Preston Northrop.

The much-anticipated design was officially revealed during Thursday’s red carpet rollout ceremony. Golden Globes host Nikki Glaser was joined by Helen Hoehne, the president of the Golden Globes, producers Barry Adelman and Glenn Weiss, renowned chef Nobu Matsuhisa, and Beverly Hills mayor Sharona Nazarian, marking the official debut of this spectacular new arrival setup.

A notable improvement was the introduction of acclaimed chef Nobu Matsuhisa, who brought his celebrated high-end Japanese cuisine, a favorite among celebrities at establishments like Nobu Malibu, to the Beverly Hilton ballroom in 2024. The Extensive Transformation of the Beverly Hilton Environs

The red carpet redesign is part of a larger, comprehensive transformation of the Golden Globes’ surrounding area. For many years, the red carpet was situated around the Beverly Hilton’s circular driveway and valet area, often leading to congested celebrity and media pathways into the hotel lobby and the international ballroom. This entire vicinity, including a substantial portion of the hotel and adjacent land, is currently undergoing a massive construction project. This ambitious undertaking, led by Cain in partnership with OKO Group, is part of the One Beverly Hills initiative, spanning 17.5 acres of mixed-use properties.

A Glimpse into the Future of One Beverly Hills

The One Beverly Hills project envisions ten acres of lush botanical gardens and expansive open spaces, meticulously designed by RIOS. It will also feature Aman’s inaugural West Coast destination, Aman Beverly Hills, comprising two residential towers, a 78-suite hotel, and the exclusive Aman Club. Additionally, the development will include upscale retail and dining establishments such as Dolce & Gabbana, Casa Tua Cucina, and Los Mochis, alongside various hospitality, wellness, and public amenities. Construction commenced last November, with phased completion anticipated by 2027.
