Aberdeen Football Club has officially announced the appointment of Stephen Robinson as its new head coach, securing his commitment until the summer of 2029. Robinson makes the transition from Scottish Premiership rivals St Mirren, bringing his assistant, Brian Kerr, with him to Pittodrie.
Dave Cormack, Aberdeen's chairman, lauded Robinson's capabilities, describing him as a leader with a successful history of exceeding expectations. St Mirren confirmed that Aberdeen activated a compensation clause in Robinson's contract, which was originally set to run until 2028, to secure his release. John Needham, St Mirren's chairman, conveyed the club's regret at Robinson's departure but extended best wishes for his next chapter, acknowledging his four years of exceptional service. In the interim, Craig McLeish, Jamie Langfield, and Allan McManus will oversee St Mirren's operations until a permanent replacement is found.
