1047 Games, the studio behind Splitgate, is developing a new movement shooter inspired by 'Titanfall' and 'Black Ops 3'

1047 Games, the developer renowned for the portal-infused shooter 'Splitgate,' has confirmed that it is actively engaged in creating a brand-new title. This upcoming project is generating considerable buzz, especially given its stated inspirations: iconic first-person shooters such as 'Titanfall' and 'Black Ops 3.'

The announcement emerged during a recent update for 'Splitgate: Arena Reloaded' season 2. Ian Proulx, the CEO of 1047 Games, conveyed the studio's aspiration to broaden its horizons beyond a single franchise. While expressing deep affection for 'Splitgate,' which he regards as his personal favorite, Proulx emphasized that the team harbors passions for other game genres and concepts. He subtly hinted at the nature of their next endeavor, describing it as a 'movement shooter,' and extended an invitation for fans of 'Titanfall' and 'Black Ops 3' to engage with the studio regarding the new title.

Notably, Proulx's reference to 'Titanfall' suggests a focus on the multiplayer dynamics that characterized the original game, rather than the critically acclaimed single-player campaign of 'Titanfall 2.' The original 'Splitgate' gained unexpected popularity, often described as a fusion of 'Halo' and 'Portal,' and 1047 Games had ambitious plans following a significant funding round in 2021. However, 'Splitgate 2' faced a challenging launch, leading to its reversion to beta status and subsequent layoffs, eventually relaunching as 'Splitgate: Arena Reloaded' in December 2025. Despite continuous updates, it struggled to regain its initial player base, prompting the studio's strategic shift toward a new project.

Although specific details about the new game remain scarce, 1047 Games intends to commence playtesting soon. Enthusiasts eager to get an early look at this highly anticipated movement shooter are encouraged to register for access, marking a pivotal new chapter for the studio.
