Nonprofit "God’s Love We Deliver" Joins Pride Parade in Celebration of Community and Care

Instructions

For the first time in several years, the New York-based nonprofit “God’s Love We Deliver” will take part in the annual Pride march, reaffirming its longstanding collaboration with NYC Pride. Known for providing nourishing meals to individuals facing long-term health conditions, the organization has been a beacon of support and compassion across decades.

Since its founding in 1985 during the AIDS crisis, the group has grown from delivering groceries to a single neighbor in need into a major force in medically tailored nutrition. Today, it prepares and distributes over four million customized meals annually, catering to more than 200 different medical conditions throughout the city. Its mission is rooted in the belief that food can serve as healing, not just sustenance.

One recipient of their service, 76-year-old Mark, credits the organization with improving his health after enduring multiple strokes, cancer diagnoses, and mobility challenges. Beyond physical benefits, he also finds emotional comfort in the regular deliveries and the warmth of those behind them. Even the homemade cookies—though technically off-limits—have become a cherished treat that brightens his day.

At its core, “God’s Love We Deliver” represents the strength of community, especially for those who have historically faced marginalization. The LGBTQ+ community remains integral to its identity, reflecting the organization's origins and ongoing commitment to inclusion. As it steps back into the Pride parade, it brings with it a message of unity, resilience, and the transformative power of caring for one another.
