"Seattle's Food Truck Struggles: From Dream to Devastation"

First Incident: The Truck's Ignition Ruined

Jennifer Wade, co-owner of Aimee Owenz located off Southwest Barton Street and 35th Avenue Southwest, shared the story. Her brother's truck, which was used to pull the trailer, was parked on the side. It was brutally broken into, and the ignition was damaged to such an extent that the truck was deemed a total loss. This incident occurred on November 6th, leaving them shocked and disappointed. They had worked hard to start this business, and now it seemed like their dreams were being shattered. The feeling of violation was overwhelming as they realized that people had invaded their space and damaged their hard-earned property.

Second Incident: Thieves' Vandalism

Just five days after the first incident, the food truck faced another attack. Thieves completely ripped apart the truck, cut open certain parts, and even tried to get in through the top and side using a crowbar. The door was completely busted open, and the lock was damaged. Wade estimated that the damage would cost between $10,000 and $15,000. This was a devastating blow that would take at least three months of sales to recover from.Despite these setbacks, the owners remain resilient. They are grateful for the support of the community, as customers like Jordan Williams show their love and appreciation for local businesses. "We're supporting them and we're backing them up," said Williams. "We love local business, we love shopping small, and we want them to do well."The food truck is open from Tuesdays through Saturdays, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wade reported the two crimes to the police and hopes that their insurance will cover some of the losses. They are determined to keep climbing and moving forward, seeing this as just another bump in the road.
